There are some uncomfortable but necessary conversations that happen early on in military training. The reason why most training begins with close order drill is to instill a mindset of instant obedience to orders. It’s a good metaphor to represent the concept that sometimes there’s no time to question, you just need to move quickly and get it done. Also, there are times you will be assigned an overall mission and it’s up to you to figure out how to get it done without further, detailed directions.
