EP 083 Who drives your health and healthcare?

“Isn’t it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do “practice”?”

― George Carlin

Episode Overview

I was struck recently by a grocery store, pharmacy chain, requesting permission to enroll my patient into their “Diabetic Management Plan.”

I was startled by the changes that have occurred in medicine. Patients and physicians now allow their relationship to deteriorate to a level where managed care companies, pharmacies and grocery stores are now offering to “manage” major diseases.

Under the guise of education, cost savings, and clinical guidance, multiple corporate entities are encroaching on the doctor patient relationship.

In this short episode, Lt Col Story and I discuss how personal choices for health, if ignored, lead to more “cookie cutter” solutions rather than the individualized care people deserve.

We look forward to hearing back from you on the content in this episode.
